Manuscript Type

Jurnal Ilmiah Keperawatan (JIKSHT) accepts original manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of nursing science, clinical practice, nursing education, healthcare management, and community health. The journal publishes scholarly articles that demonstrate scientific rigor, methodological appropriateness, and relevance to nursing practice and healthcare services.

The journal welcomes the following types of manuscripts:

  1. Original Research Articles

Original Research Articles report findings from empirical studies using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods approaches. Topics may include clinical nursing practice, nursing interventions, patient safety, nursing education, community health nursing, mental health nursing, family nursing, gerontological nursing, and healthcare management.

Manuscripts should present a clear research question, appropriate methodology, relevant results, and a discussion of the findings in relation to existing literature and their implications for nursing practice.

  1. Review Articles

Review Articles provide a comprehensive and critical synthesis of existing evidence on topics relevant to nursing and healthcare. The journal welcomes systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and meta-analyses that follow appropriate methodological and reporting standards.

Authors should clearly describe the review objectives, search strategy, eligibility criteria, methods of evidence selection, and synthesis. Systematic reviews should follow relevant reporting guidelines, such as PRISMA, where applicable.

  1. Case Reports and Case Studies

Case Reports and Case Studies present clinically or educationally significant cases relevant to nursing practice. These manuscripts may describe unusual clinical presentations, complex nursing care, innovative nursing interventions, or lessons learned from specific healthcare settings.

Authors must ensure patient confidentiality and obtain informed consent when required. Case-based manuscripts should explain the clinical context, nursing assessment, interventions, outcomes, and implications for nursing practice.

  1. Quality Improvement and Evidence-Based Practice Articles

These manuscripts report initiatives designed to improve the quality, safety, effectiveness, or efficiency of nursing care and healthcare services. Examples include patient safety initiatives, infection prevention programs, clinical audit, implementation of evidence-based nursing protocols, and quality improvement projects.

Authors should describe the identified problem, intervention or improvement strategy, evaluation methods, results, and implications for sustainable improvements in healthcare delivery.

  1. Brief Reports

Brief Reports present concise but meaningful findings from preliminary studies, pilot projects, focused investigations, or other research activities that provide relevant contributions to nursing science and practice.

Although shorter than full Original Research Articles, Brief Reports must maintain appropriate methodological rigor and clearly communicate their objectives, methods, key findings, and practical implications.

  1. Methodological and Instrument Development Articles

These manuscripts describe the development, adaptation, validation, or evaluation of research instruments, assessment tools, nursing scales, clinical protocols, and methodological approaches relevant to nursing and healthcare research.

Authors should provide sufficient information about the development process, validity, reliability, and other relevant psychometric or methodological properties.

  1. Nursing Education and Professional Development Articles

These articles examine innovations and developments in nursing education, clinical training, simulation-based learning, competency assessment, continuing professional development, and the preparation of the nursing workforce.

Submissions may report empirical research, program evaluations, or evidence-based educational interventions with clear implications for nursing education and professional practice.

All submitted manuscripts must be original, relevant to the journal's focus and scope, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts must follow the journal's author guidelines, applicable ethical standards, and relevant reporting guidelines for the study design.

Research involving human participants must have appropriate ethical approval when required by applicable regulations and institutional policies. Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of their findings, appropriate citation of sources, disclosure of conflicts of interest, and transparency regarding funding and author contributions.
